Hi Michael
I have just purchased Pure Tabs and like the look of it and wondered if it is fully responsive. In my test site I don’t seem to be able to get a fully responsive effect.
December 19, 2013 at 11:54 am #1972Michael GilkesKeymaster@Mightec. Thanks for posting. Well, I believe it to be responsive. You can check it out on the demo site. Is there any particular effect that you find to not be responsive?
Also, keep in mind that malformed HTML place in the tabs can often wreak havoc with the tabs HTML. I have had this happen to a few customers. This occurs especially when there are un-closed div elements in the tab.

I have looked at the DEMO and what I expected was that the tabs would stack on a smartphone, but clearly it does not, its not a problem.
I do like your Pure Tabs, I think that it is much better than NoNumber Tabs, looks great. I have just got to get my head around trying to style it to suit my website. I am struggling to understand the Use Inline Styles.
I have tried customising a style sheet by taking a copy and renaming it, but for some reason it does not display, just clear tabs.
December 19, 2013 at 1:22 pm #1974Michael GilkesKeymaster@Mightec. I don’t know how much or what you are editing. However, I would not mess with the Inline Styles at all. The Inline styles that are built into the plugin control the structure and behavior of the tabs. They do not control the look and feel. The themes in the themes folder control the look and feel. I deliberately separated the functionality CSS from the look-and-feel CSS.
It seems like I will have to create a Pure Tabs Custom Theme Tutorial. This was not what I planned to do today, but if you really need it, I will take the text couple hours and create a tutorial for you and others. Are you willing to wait a bit?
Here is a start:
Each theme contains about 16 CSS rule sets. Each of these rule sets impact a different aspect of the look and feel of the tabs. By editing the values for properties inside of the rule set you can change the look and feel of the theme. The first theme I ever made for the plugin was the basic-blue.css theme.
Mightec, if you want me to feature your custom theme colors in the tutorial, please post what colors you want:
- Background Color and/or Gradient for main panel
- Border Color for main panel
- Border Radius (Curvature) for main panel
- Background Color and/or Gradient for header
- Border Color for header
- Border Radius (Curvature) for header
- Background Color and/or Gradient for a tab
- Border Color for a tab
- Border Radius (Curvature) for a tab
- Text Color for a tab
- Background Color and/or Gradient for tab when mouse over
- Border Color for a tab when mouse over
- Border Radius (Curvature) for a tab when mouse over
- Text Color for a tab when mouse over
- Border Color for a tab’s content
- Text Color for a tab’s content

I have worked my way through the css style sheet and I am very happy with the final product look. I didn’t understand all of the sections, but it is ok.
I have also done a review on JED.
December 19, 2013 at 4:39 pm #1978Michael GilkesKeymaster@Mightec. That’s impressive!
Well, I took the time to make the tutorial. I hope it will still be of use to you, and others. Please have a look at it: Pure Tabs Custom Theme Tutorial.
Thanks for your review! I appreciate it!
