I have Easy Folder Listing Pro 3.1.8. Recently I moved my website to a new server. My website is now SSL protected. From that moment, German Umlaute are not displayed correctly any more. ÄÖÜäöü are displayed with a rhomb symbol that contains a question mark.
I feel up to buying the newst Version of Easy Folder Listing Pro but I want to be sure that the issue mentionned above is resolved. Can you confirm?
@crimle. From my experience, the key to getting non-ascii characters to display correctly is almost entirely dependent on the encoding set in your FTP client when you upload the files to your server. When you upload the files to your new server, you have to force UTF-8 encoding on the FTP client.
I don’t recall any main changes in terms of UTF-8 characters displaying properly in version 3.2.12 as compared to 3.1.8. Please try to re-upload a few files with force UTF-8 charset, and see how that works. I believe it should work once you do that.
@crimie. You didn’t have to edit any files. That option can be changed directly in the extension “Options”. You can access that from the “Options” button in the top right hand area of the Easy Folder Listing Pro’s Dashboard. There are actually five Force UTF-8 options available to choose from.
