The file upload module is just what I wanted and it’s working fine. Thanks! However, I would like to turn off the feature that allows an article to be edited. Could you please advise me on how to do this?

Also, is there a maximum size of file that can be uploaded? I’m wanting to set the limit at 30MB. Is this possible? Or if I leave the size field blank, does that leave it limitless?

    THank you,

    Naomi

@ chaddng. Thanks for posting. My module does not provide any feature that allows the article to be edited. So, I really don’t know to what you are referring. To set the limit to 30MB, all you do is calculate the number of bytes: 30 x 1024 x 1024 = 31457280. Note that there are 1024 bytes in 1 kilobyte and there are 1024 kilobytes in 1 megabyte.

However, please bear in mind that regardless of what you specify in the module fort he maximum file size, this value is limited by the upload_max_filesize and post_max_size values in your PHP settings.

thanks. I’ll look into the file upload size (tomorrow) in the other thread , and just talk about the article editing here.

When the module is enabled, each article then has a little edit icon, which when clicked, opens a edit pane with the text “Submit an Article”, and lots of fields to be filled in. I was hoping to turn off the little edit icon and stick to keeping the functionality only in a module, position right. If I’m still not being clear, I could email a screendump. Of course, it could be something else that I’ve installed that I’m mistakenly assuming is your module. WIll try and rule some things out tomorrow.

    Thanks, Naomi

Michael, I apologise… The issue was not with your module at all. I realised that it was access level assigned to the test users I’d created. ‘Publisher’ access allowed them to edit the article, and now that I know what the problem was, it was so obvious I should have spotted it earlier.

    Regards,

    Naomi
