Regardless of the file size, when an upload starts, within a second, “100%” is displayed during upload. A user unfamiliar with how the upload works may think the upload has completed.
When uploading large files, several minutes may lapse with no screen updates, the user has no way of knowing if the system is hung, or if uploading is still in progress.
Is there any way to show an accurate percentage of completion during the upload, a value that’s periodically updated while uploading is in progress so the user gets some feedback?
@csymmonds. Thanks for posting. This is the first time I have had anyone observe that the progress bar goes to 100% in a second regardless of the file size. However, with that being said, the aspect of the plugin that manages the upload process and progress was not created by me. The plugin is based on SWFUpload, and SWFUpload is what does all the detection. I have clearly stated this in the known issues section of the product page. With that being said, have you tried the uploader in different browsers? Let me know what environment you are using the uploader in. There are known issues regarding the progress bar responsiveness in certain environments.
