File Location Symbolic Link

Hello

I have successfully got easy folder listing working with symbolick links as I need to list folder contents across our network for our intranet site. The only problem is that the link once clicked downloads the file to the local pc default download area and does not open the file in its resident location. This is a key requirement as users want to access files displayed via easy older module edit then save them back to there original location. Is there anyway of doing this? Any advice would be gracefully received.

@andy. Thanks for your question. Currently, the way it is designed does not accommodate for accessing the file outside of the joomla root folder. As you can see, listing files outside would work with some tweaking, but accessing the files is different.
