Hi Michael, Thanks for your easy folder listing. I’m trying to use it with Joomla 1.6.3 but have an issue.

In my /images folder, I have several folders. I added another folder in /images called ‘forms’ (/images/forms) and easy folder listing can’t find this folder in ‘choose the parent folder’ drom down list! My ‘forms’ folder is simply not listed in the drop down menu. I tried to un-install and re-install easy folder listing, but it didn’t help. Do you have any ideas what could be causing this?

Also, it might be nice if I could select a different root folder than /images, as I originally wanted this to be /forms instead of /images/forms.

@imrich. I don’t know what could be causing your problem. I just tested it in my copy of Joomla 1.6.3 and it works as expected. one thing to keep in mind, after you create the new folder in the root directory, please remember to come out of the Module manager by clicking ‘Close’, and then go back into it. You should see it updated then.

It is not too difficult to figure out how to change the root folder. You are free to edit the code as you see fit. There are a number of ways to do it. The easiest and quickest way is to edit the xml manifest file. See the following for assistance: http://docs.joomla.org/Folderlist_parameter_type

    Michael,

Thanks for the reply. I found the problem, it was a stupid user error! Embarassing, but simple.

I also would like to request that if you update Easy File Listing, that you add two options:

    1) The option so that new links will open in a new page (“target=_new”)

    2) The ability to configure the root folder without editing the source. This will make it easier to maintain, and to work with multiple copies with different root folders.

Thanks again for your prompt reply and for sharing your hard work.

    Regards,

    Rich

@imrich. Please have a look at this topic for adding the target attribute to links in the module.

Thanks for your suggestions for updates!
