Nice looking components you’ve developed.
I’ve not been successful in finding the right solution to my problem.
I’m running Joomla 1.5.26.
I have over 1,000 files, mostly PDFs, in a directory that is broken down into several sub-directories and sub-sub and sub-sub-sub. You get the idea.
I’ve installed a component from a competitor of yours and it works with a limited number of files but if I put them all in, the URL loads in the address bar, but the page does not load, it just leaves a white screen. That developer told me that I had to ramp up my PHP memory on the server which we’ve done without any better results.
So, I have several questions with this.
– If I try your software, which on the surface looks very similar, am I going to encounter the same issue?
– Can I point your component to where my directory is and will it see and display all the subfolders within? That directory structure is important to the end users.
– If I use yours, am I best server with Easy Folder List, Easy Folder Listing Pro or the Advanced Folder Listing?
I have a working model with limited files that you can see here.
If you look at the Test Template Module dropdown you’ll find that the CAD templates page (80 files) works but the Graphic Templates page (1,000+ files) is blank.
I’m not trying to trick you into troubleshooting the other developers work, I’m done with his component, it’s not going to do what I need. Just want to determine if yours somehow works differently such that it would meet my needs.

@SkyBlade. Thanks for posting your question and providing the relevant details from the start. As much as I would like to recommend one of my products for you to use, I have to be honest with you. The other developer is right from the point of view of you needing to increase the memory_limit for your PHP settings.
First of all, in terms of my product line up, Advanced Folder Listing is designed to work only for Joomla 2.5 series. It won’t work on Joomla 1.5.x. Easy Folder Listing module and Easy Folder Listing Pro plugin will work on Joomla 1.5+ and 2.5+.
Now, in all honesty, I know for certain that Easy Folder Listing Pro can and has been used to display 1000+ files. However, I do not advise it at all, because the performance of displaying 1000+ files in a table on an html page gives a VERY poor user experience. Please read through these two posts to see what I mean:
If after reading those, you still want to use Easy Folder Listing Pro, then you still have to adjust your PHP settings. I give instructions on how to do that on my FAQ at Valor Apps. It tells you exactly what to do to get it working.
Let me know what you decide to do. However, please note that I do not advise trying to display hundreds or thousands of files on one page. Nonetheless, it can be done.
